Vanessa Daiger, LMHCA

A Holistic, Embodied, Trauma-Informed Approach

Vanessa Daiger is a Licensed Mental Health Counseling Associate working with Adults & Teens in Washington State via telehealth.

Vanessa's approach is welcoming & integrative. She explores with you, the impacts of your past & current roles on physical, behavioral, and mental health.

Vanessa's approach is person-centered, holistic, and incorporates multiple therapeutic methods. Self-knowledge is grown through the power of connection in relationships & systems. Through the therapeutic process, we may explore interactions with yourself and your world & the meanings you hold within it. This therapeutic style is one of acceptance, openness, curiosity, and humor. Uniqueness and search for authentic self are honored in this collaborative space; as you are the expert.  We will emphasize the often overlooked disconnect of mind/logic and body/system responses that have been adapted throughout your life for purpose of self-protection, to cultivate a personally guided framework towards your healing.

Vanessa is a Seattle local and enjoys her time outside of session exploring historic parts of the city and spending time outdoors. Vanessa finds groundedness in nature, live music, movement, and through time spent with animals and loved-ones. She spends her free time cultivating balance between physical and mental wellness routines. Within this balance, she spends time noticing uniqueness in nature, road tripping to pnw towns, exploring various outdoor hobbies, visiting her favorite local parks and coffee holes, & spending time with her pets and family.

Why Naturopathy

The Wildwood Approach

An emphasis on...

Holistic Approach

Integrating exploration of various avenues of health and wellness that are prevalent and impactful in your life & your history.

Diving into how your experience & route to healing is impacted by connections to your unique macro and micro systems, physical wellness, chronic pain, nature, social context, life stressors, family wellness history, role in society, movement, nutrition, & self.

Somatic Connection

At your pace, learning ways of experiencing body-connection through stillness, imagination, and mindfulness states. Safely strengthening & healing through whole system connection rather than through thought and behavioral changes alone. Exploring where the body has integrated it's own meanings, memories, rules, and expectations that impact the nervous system.

Behavioral Skills

Thoughtfully exploring the roles, patterns, history, and impacts of experiences on thoughts, emotions & behaviors. Paying attention to the protective traits arising from conscious and subconscious triggers.

Healing through techniques such as; values-based living exercises, distress tolerance skills, mindfulness techniques, emotion regulation practice, and interpersonal effectiveness application.

Emotion-Focusing &
Attachment Style Exploration

Exploring relationship to self, world, & others drawing from knowledge based on the basic human need for connection, in-depth knowing, and safety.

Using attachment-based research to understand and explore the motives of your distinct style of human-to-human connection.

Leaving space for acceptance of and learning the attachment styles of those around you & how to best communicate & receive needs.

Solution-Focused Techniques

Utilizing your strengths, values, & personalized goals to explore methods of 'how' to reach for your ideal outcomes emphasizing more of 'what is working' and less of why the problem exists.

Trauma-Informed Care

Collaborating with you & your environment to guide healing in a curious, safe, relational way as to honor your past & present states.

Inspiration

“When you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree.

And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.”
